Mount Patterson can be reached from nearby Bridgeport, California by 4wd vehicles almost to the summit. Most climbers park their vehicles at Lobdell Lake near the base and climb the remaining 2,600 feet of the mountain on foot.

Elevation of Middle Sister California 10,859 feet. The Middle Sister in Mono County California is a popular climb along with its littler East Sister in Nevada a half mile away.

Most climbers scale both sisters at the same time.

Lost Canyon Peak near Lake Topaz

A rare view of Lost Canyon peak in California. And though these mountains are next to hwy 395 at Lake Topaz, they cannot be seen from the hwy.


This photo was taken from remote hwy 338 on the east side of Lake Topaz, about 10 miles south of Smith Valley.
