Elevation: 11,285 feet

Mount Grant is primarily used by the Hawthorne Army Ammunition Depot as a firing range and for infantry training. To climb the mountain one must first get permission from the Army Depot. It is a class 3 climb for the most part and expect perpetual high winds at the summit.

Only a handful of climbers have scaled Grant over the years and little is known about the climbers' log book at the summit.

Pilot Peak's giant prominence can be seen for most of your trip from Luning, Nevada to Tonopah, Nevada.

Mineral county's Pilot Peak is a steep class 2 climb all the way to the top. The base of the mountain is easily reached from nearby Mina, Nevada.

Although its prominence is significant when viewing it from Hawthorne, Nevada, Mount Ferguson is seldom climbed or given much attention.

There are no regular routes to the peak of this mountain however, there is a rugged road from hwy 361 to Cliff Spring at the base of Ferguson where some start their climbs.
